In the book of Revelation, the Apostle John saw in vision a remnant group of people standing with Jesus (the Lamb of God) on Mt. Zion (Revelation 14:.1). Having come through the great tribulation victorious over the beast and its image, and having not received the beast’s mark of authority, they represent the Lord’s first fruits reaped from the earth.
John’s vision then flashes back to a time and place in earth’s history where three angels’ proclamations (messages) are given in succession (Revelation 14:6-12). These proclamations, each marked by events in earth’s history and future (the third angel’s message), collectively announce God’s last day message to His remnant people.
Finally, John’s vision concludes with the glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ as the triumphant king and conqueror over the kingdoms of this world. Jesus is here shown as the great reaper of men’s souls: some to be gathered up for the kingdom of heaven while others are to be gathered for the great winepress of God’s wrath (Revelation 14:14-20).
This book not only examines God’s righteous act of judgment as expressed through the three angels’ messages, but shows from history the prophetic fulfillment of the first two angels’ messages. For God’s people living in these latter days of earth’s history, the third angel’s message has special significance in that it points to a time of testing which will separate the righteous from the wicked in preparation for the Lord Jesus’ soon coming. Therefore, let us take the time to understand and heed these heaven-sent messages, including the dire warning of the third’s angel’s message, before it’s too late!
“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city [of God].” Revelation 22:12-14 (NASB)
