After Adam’s fall, his dominion over the earth was forfeited to Satan—the serpent of lies. Soon thereafter, God’s promise of surety was given, “And I [The Lord God] will put enmity between you [Satan] and the woman [kingdom of God], and between your offspring and hers; he [the Christ child] will crush your head, and you will strike his heel” (Genesis 3:15).
In the fullness of time, Jesus, the Christ child came into our world. As the promised messiah, Jesus after his baptism was led by the Spirit of God into the wilderness where he was to pick up where Adam fell. After forty days of fasting in the wilderness, Jesus was met with the great tempter appearing as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). In failing to secure his stolen kingdom, by way of tempting Jesus (the second Adam), Satan was forced upon Jesus Christ’s command to retreat. Thus, began Jesus’ three- and one-half-year mission and struggle with the forces of evil in preparing the way for man’s salvation, reclaiming the kingdom of God on earth, and destroying the works of the Devil!
This book takes look at the last great struggle and attempt made by Satan in securing his kingdom on the earth. Having great enmity towards the woman’s offspring—the promised Christ child—Jesus; Satan’s malevolent and murderous actions not only reveal the length and depth for which he was willing to go but are in direct opposition to Jesus’ benevolent and life-giving actions in not only securing our salvation, but that of the whole universe from sin rising up again.
As the author and poet, it is my sincere hope that you as the reader will not only be blessed by the imagery of words presented within this book but will come to see and appreciate more fully what Jesus has done for you and me, in order to be set free!
